Tuesdays Tidbits with Kari

On the twelth day of Christmas my true love gave to me....

Twelve days alone on a tropical island with a brand new laptop
Eleven hours of no one yelling Mom
Ten people to do my shopping for me
Nine assistants to wrap my gifts
Eight elves to decorate my house & get my cards out
Seven helpers to clean my house
Six caterers to cook dinner all month & make the Christmas cookies

Five minutes of peace

Four people to do my enless laundry
Three drivers to play taxi for my kids
Two accountants to pay my bills
And a long extension on my deadline

So what's on your wish list this holiday season? And have you been naughty or nice? Remember, Santa's watching :-)

Seriously, though, how on earth is any one person supposed to get all this done? Yet every year women across the world have done exactly that for whatever holiday they are celebrating. My husband works hard and does help out in many ways, but when it comes to the holidays, it's pretty much all on me. Even my kids get bored with helping out. They all love the way it looks in the end, but guess who has to put in the hours to make the magic happen.....Mom!!! Every year I say I'm going to go on strike or hire someone to do it all for me, but then I give in.

How about you? Are you the santa the elves and everyone in between? Inquiring minds want to know....

This year will be an odd Christmas for me. I've decided NOT to put up the big tree or do any fancy decorating that normally takes 3 or 4 full days of work.

Why, you ask?

I've had my son, pregnant daughter -in-law and 18th month old granddaughter with me for a month while they waited to close on their house.

Ellie is adorable but into everything. Add the fact that said house guests are going to be in Nebraska fop Christmas with in-laws and we are celebrating a week early here in Texas, and you can see why I am not willing to put in all that work and effort.

We are actually having Christmas eve and day at my daughter's nicely decorated home.

And oh, did I mention I'm having hand surgery on the 28th? The thought of hubby trying to organize all my stuff for next year breaks me out in a cold sweat.

So, I don't need all those helpers this Christmas. Would you like me to send them your way, Kari?

Wonder if there is an elf who writes mysteries???

Liz, I'll settle for an elf that can help me plot the next book

Lindsay, you're too funny.

And Liz, I don't blame you.

We are spending Christmas eve at my sister in law's, christmas day at my in laws, and then heading to Florida the very next morning.

But....my little ones are still home and would KILL me if I didn't decorate. Sigh. So send those elves this way :-))
