Not at RWA

A lot of writers are at RWA now. I debated, but in the end just couldn't swing the money. And I truly need to be writing like a mad woman. So instead of feeling sorry for myself, I'm going to try to buckle down and get some work done. I've finally broken through the walls on both the mystery and the paranormal romantic suspense. Yay! What an incredible feeling when you finally see the story in a new light and start moving forward instead of spinning in your tracks. So I'm going to write as much as I can so I can get these darned books finished. Next year, I'll be at RWA with my party hat on. Hubby may go with me. This is a short post today since as Liz mentioned yesterday, not many will pop in with all the NYC excitement. Hope everyone there has fun, and may the rest of us be productive here!

Anita: I hear you. I'm not at Nationals this year either. Getting the pages done has been more important. But, I will miss the fun and seeing everyone. Having said that, now back to work.

I feel your pain. No RWA for me, either. I'm focusing more on mystery conferences these days.

And finishing the damn book :-)

I'm soooo close now.

Cassy, I really will miss seeing everyone as well. I had such a great time last year. I plan on going next year.

Kari, I still haven't decided about Crime Bake. I would love to go, but Embrace comes out in November and that month gets so crazy. We'll see.

Yay on getting close to finishing the book. That's a good thing.

Wow, looks like all of the M&M's are in the same boat. I'm not in NY either (sigh). Have looked forward to the conference FINALLY being in NYC for years!! and nope, couldn't swing it either. Just too much going on and not enough cash to go around.

So I'm working on plotting out the last half of the book! YAY! I've worked on some index cards and actually figured out I need about 10 more chapts. (Yuck).

I'll get there eventually. Just have to find the quiet time.

This will obviously be a good quiet week - at least in blogger land!

I'm not at National either and like you Kari focusing more on mystery conferences. If nothing else, more of us guys at them.
Guess we all have the right priority-writing.
I want to get my book finished so I can maybe pitch it at Crime Bake

It's sad we won't see each other in NYC. BUT, CrimeBake is a great venue. Small, intimate and right there. Anita, if you can do it, I have found it worth the trip. I'll only be there for one day as it's an easy drive for me and I have commitments around those dates. Can we figure out a time for all of us to get together??

No kidding it's quiet in blog land. I've got a great guest and not getting any comments and very few hit.

Next year Barbie! For now, we'll plot and write. Tell Lula to get out her whip and put you to work. :)

Lindsay, I can definitely see why you would want ot focus on mystery conventions, and not just because there are more guys. :)

Cassy, I would love to do Crime Bake. I'll have to figure out the money and my schedule.
