Although it wasn't an official booksigning, there were several authors at TTP with books available. I'm mad at myself because I spent most of the night behind the table and didn't chat once with Nora. Well, I'll stalk her at the next signing on December 3rd :)
Seriously, she mingles with us ordinary folk as if she weren't the Goddess of Romance, as you can see from this picture.

This is Kerri Carpenter, Nora Roberts, Dana Rodgers (my CP) and Avery Flynn. Kerri adores Nora so much that she and her mother once reorganized an entire Nora section in a bookstore. So this was a really special evening for her. It was fun for everyone, getting to mingle with Nora, who has an incredible sense of style, and chat with the bookstore staff, simply fabulous ladies. They gave away door prizes (Dana won a facial, so we're definitely going back) and there were hand massages. We writers do have to take care of our hands. They are our livelihood. I'm glad I went and I can't wait for the holiday signing next month.
Speaking of holidays, since this is Thanksgiving week, I want to remind us all, as Liz did in her blog yesterday, to stop and think about all the things we're thankful for. I have so many. Family, friends, good health, a home, food (too much), and as an author I have a lot to be thankful for. Awaken did very well, I hit some big lists, the readers seem to love the series, the second book came out November 1st and the publisher had to almost immediately go to reprint. I'm very thankful for that. Also that I sold the new paranormal relic hunter series to Amazon Montlake. Yay! Note to self: get butt in chair and write. I'm majorly thankful for the Hollywood interest the new series immediately generated. That's like a wow moment. I'll never ever forget that. Second note to self and reminder from agent: GET BUTT IN CHAIR AND WRITE!!!!!!
It's been a wonderful year. Happy Thanksgiving to my M&M sisters, our families and friends, our followers and first time visitors. Eat turkey, treasure your family and friends, remember what's important in life, and please come back and visit with us!

Anita: You never cease to amaze me! Great post. You've had a fantastic year, but I do want to point out that you've earned it. Every single sale, accolade, rating and new contract has been because of what you've done. YOU. Yes, we are blessed. Everyone of us. But don't underestimate what you have accomplished.
I am blessed to be part of this group. Liz, Kari, Barbie Jo and Anita, you are the best.
Another fantastice release for you Anita. Super congratulations and on spending some great time with Nora. I wonder if you'll even associate with us meer mortals now.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and let's also not forget to give thanks to the brave women and men in uniform who won't be home this year with their families
Cassy, you're so sweet, and such a great cheerleader. I can't wait until you're published and we can watch you climb the ladder of success. And we do have a great group here. :)
Lindsay, thanks so much! I think I can come down off my cloud to mingle with you guys, at least occasionally... LOL!! Seriously, watching Nora amazes me. She's so incredibly successful, I mean she's done everything, and yet she's so down to earth. She gives generously to her community and to writers. She's very genuine.
And you're right, we can't forget the people who can't be home with their family because they're ensuring that we can live free. God bless them!!!
We loved having you as an honorary Waterworld Mermaid, you're welcome in our lagoon any time. Happy Thanksgiving!
Great post Anita. You have been a great friend to me and an inspiration. Keep dreaming up those great stories. Hoping next year will be just as fruitful as this one or more.

Anita, I'm sooo envious! Nora is one of the funniest and nicest super-authors I ever met. I won't miss her pitches at RWA. Visiting her bookstore and inn would be so cool!
It's been a great year, indeed, with more to come. I'm so happy for you, Anita. You earned all the good things that are happening for you.
Are we invited to the premiere?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
~Rochelle
Yay!!! We loved having you as an honorary Mermaid - you did an excellent job! Also, thank you for helping me to stay grounded around "the" Nora! And not to worry, I do plan to rearrange your bookshelf one day in the future. In fact, I may have just happened to move around some books at B&N the other day so that Awaken the Highland Warrior was right up front. I just can't seem to help myself.
p.s.
Started the second Highland Warrior book and CAN NOT PUT IT DOWN!
How exciting to be part of Nora's inner circle!
I'm thankful for my cyber writer friends!

How cool is that? Great post, Anita. And you deserve great things. Your books are amazing, and your new series sounds awesome! It's no wonder Hollywood is interested. I predict big things in your future :-)
Ah, thanks, Avery. It was fun swimming with you guys.
Thanks so much, Mary. We writers have to stick together. Good luck to you with all your endeavors.
Rochelle, Nora is an amazing woman. I so admire her. Thanks for the compliments and good luck to you. Who Do? Voodoo is really doing well. Yes, if there's a premiere, you guys are invited! :)
Kerri, LOL. You can rearrange my books anytime! I'm glad you guys had fun and I'm thrilled that you're enjoying Awaken!
Marilyn, I wish I was part of Nora's inner circle, but alas, I'm just a hangeroner who's been lucky enough to be included in the booksignings and events there at her store. Anyone is invited to Girls Night Out. The more the merrier. It's like an open house to let people know what the store offers.
Thanks, Kari, and I love the good prediction! :)
Anita, you definitely have a lot to give thanks for, writing wise. I am so tickled by your success and want to be you when I grow up!!!
Happy thanksgiving, everyone.
