Anita's Attic: Thanks for a Great Year - Happy Holidays!

The Christmas holiday is upon us...again!. I swear I feel like it just left. This seems like the fastest year in history, or maybe it's all the wonderful things that have happened that have made the time seem to pass so quickly, and what a wonderful year it has been. I have two books out; that in itself is such a thrill, and I've just sold my paranormal relic hunter series to Amazon Publishing. I am so grateful to all the wonderful readers who propelled Awaken to some impressive lists for a little debut author from nowhere.

I can't forget my wonderful agent, Christine Witthohn of Book Cents Literary Agency, who made it all happen. She has guided me, cheered me on, and kept me in line. I don't know what I would do without her. She's the most hard-working, caring, self-sacrificing person I know. From the moment I met her, she made a difference in my life. I was a stranger, but she took the time to talk to me and give me advice that I desperately needed. That same devotion and care have never stopped. I wouldn't be here without her. Thank you, Christine, for a great year!

There are lots of people I am grateful for. My family, my M&M sisters, the Book Cents gang, my critique partner, Dana Rodgers, and my wonderful readers, who've made this year a dream come true. I want to wish you all a wonderful holiday filled with family, fun, and lots of good cheer!

There have been several "firsts" for me this year, many good, some bad, but it's been a whirlwind. What are some highlights of your year?

Great post, Anita, and you deserve every great thing that's happened to you this year!

I had my first mystery come out in August and become a national bestseller after just 5 days! What an awesome feeling.

And now I'm about to self-pub my romantic comedies. I'm very excited and very blessed.

Oh, and hubby lost a job but then landed an even better job after just 11 days!

What a year! Can't wait to see what 2012 has in store.

Happy holidays everyone...

I agree this has been a whirlwind year! last I knew it was September. But to end what was a very rough year for me, I have my first book coming out in time for the holiday season: Santa Wore Combat Boots. It is about an army widow who finds unexpected love wrapped in the spirit of Christmas. It is hours away from debuting on Amazon and I am very excited!

And this just proved to me that God doesn't give you more than you can handle. I interviewed for a new job, was a top candidate and in the end didn't get the job. Yes, it was more money but it was also more hours, some travel and weekends. I was disappointed at first because I really wanted it. Afterwards, I realized it was a good thing because I had just finished my romantic comedy and Christmas story to self-publish, I'm also working on a cozy mystery and romance for submission, AND I'm going back to school and will be taking 2 classes this spring semester. Throw my family (and dog) in the mix and HOW could I possibly spend 50 hrs a week on the job??? Yup, things happen for a reason and it's alllll good!

I can't wait til you Relic Hunter series comes out. Your warriors were incredible, I'm dying to see what you've come up with next! Have a very Merry Christmas!

Barbie Jo, you've had a crazy year. OMG. And I was in awe of Nora Roberts. How do you do all that? I struggle to just write. I agree, God doesn't let more junk happen in our lives than we can handle. BTW, I love the cover and the title of the new book. Santa Wore Combat Boots. I can't wait.

Hey Lindsay. I hope your holiday is great!

I can only say AMEN to the gratitude to Christine. This year has been amazing for me as well with LIVER LET DIE gong to a second printing and staying on Amazon's top 100 mysteries with women sleuths even now. Plus I just released my own self published book and got a fantastic review already.

Yes, life is good. Here's to another great year for all of us.
