Wednesday was my birthday. I always think about the previous year, not to mention how fast it's gone by, but how blessed I am to have my family and friends. And I'm so grateful that I am a writer. I fuss about it, get frustrated frequently, haven't figured out a good balance, but I love it.
This year, I got a really cool present. I had just blogged on Tuesday about Guardians of Stone being available for preorder but not having a cover, and wa la! at about 35 minutes before my birthday (I was born at 12:05 am) my first round of cover choices started coming in! Well, my agent called to let me know my editor had sent them over. Who knows how many minutes or hours they had been sitting in my inbox since I've been avoiding email.
There are three choices so far and there will probably be more. I loved one, hated one, and thought one was mediocre. I wish I could post them here and get opinions, but they are all in a pdf file together and I have no idea how to post them. Still, a very nice birthday present!
In the meantime, my kids are at their grandparents for several days. I miss my kiddos, but it's nice that "Mom's Taxi" is NOT in service for a few days. Austin and I are being total lazy bums and loving every minute!
