Okay, I had a totally cool moment today when one of my writer friends said she had preordered my book. My first thought was "preordered" Embrace? How's that possible? It's been out since November. She must have meant "ordered", THEN it dawned on me that she meant Guardians of Stone, the first in my relic series which comes out December 4th.
I jumped over to Amazon and sure enough, there it was, in all its coverless glory! My first book with Montlake Romance. Yay! Very exciting moment. Here's the link if anyone is interested. I can't wait to see what they come up with for a cover. I'm excited and apprehensive about that.
Anyway, as Liz mentioned in her blog yesterday, it's tough to get much accomplished during summer. At least it is for me. Having the kids home, vacations, sports...sheesh, it's hard to get any writing done. I've started book two in the relic series, tentatively called Keeper of Secrets. I have a whole page written. Actually, three fourths of a page. Whee doggies!! Bring on three hundred more. And I still have the third book to finish in the warrior series.
It will be slow going for a while. The kids are leaving for their grandparents on Friday. They'll be in Birmingham and Austin has taken some time off. We rarely spend time away from the kids. We may take a short trip to Williamsburg or do something fun, but mostly we'll just relax and enjoy not having to run around like mad. Then, I've got to kick it into high gear and get these books finished.
I hope you guys are finding ways to be productive during these lazy, crazy, hot--and I don't mean sexy--summer months.
