Summer is supposed to be relaxing and full of enjoyment. A time to re-engergize and regroup. A time to grow and flourish.
Somehow, I am busier than ever!
There is no relaxing. I can't say I'm not enjoying myself, because I love watching my kids play lacrosse. But all of this travel and all of these games and all of this constant running is exhausting.
I am definitely not re-energized and I haven't had a chance to regroup and forget growing or flourishing. Forget vacations or lazy hazy summer days at the beach in the month of July anyway.
My summer will begin in August.
Then I plan to play away :-) I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...all I can say is my kids better appreciate what I do for them. And I have a whole new respect for what my parents sacrificed and did for me when I was a kid.
How about you? Are your summer's crazy? Do you have a chance to write and read and try something new?

It's been a good summer so far. Getting a lot of writing done and even branched out into a genre I said I'd never write-regency.
Besides that I'm working on four other boooks, yes you saw that right 4 books. I'm also starting edits for another self-published book which should be out in a few weeks
Kari: I hear you and my kids are grown and basically out the door. There is always something. BUT, thank God for airconditioning. I have friends who don't have it and I think I would spend all my time in the bathtub. But, maybe then I'd get more reading done!
You manage so much! You have my full admiration.
Lindsay!! How can you be working on 4 books at the same time?? I'm going to have to pick your brain for your techniques.
Kari, I'm like you, running around like crazy taking my kids here and there. I do hope they appreciate it.
But Austin and I are taking the week off while the kids are in Alabama, but of course I just got copy edits! I'm dying to dive into them. We're going to visit Monticello today then I'm getting back to work.
Lindsay, wow! Four book!!! Oh my. I'm struggling with one when I should be writing two.
It's simple really. To begin with you have to forget that your mind is what controls you. It's the books that do.
M-F I write on my regency Christmas book during the day then at night I work on Ice Queen, to find out more about Jessica Sales check out ajessicasalesnovel.wordpress.com.
Then on the weekend I write on Red Queen and my regency romantic suspense.
So you see, my mind is controlled by the books, oh and I'm a panster.
My summer is insane..and I have an October deadline. Oy!! I could use a shooter right now.
I'm finishing up my edits on Double Crossed. I've read this baby so many times I can't remember what's missing. I need to just let it go. I write a new scene and then find it already done a chapter later. ERRR
